Elise Fouin
Élise Fouin is a French designer renowned for her innovative approach to materials and design. A graduate of the École Boulle in Paris, she specialized in both metalwork and furniture design, which laid the foundation for her diverse and experimental practice. Early in her career, Fouin worked with esteemed designer Andrée Putman and led object design projects for luxury brands such as Guerlain and Christofle. In her independent work, Fouin explores a wide array of materials—including paper, wood, metal, glass, fabric, and various plastics—manipulating them to create unique and functional designs. Her notable projects include the "WinePaper" wallpaper for Ruinart Champagne, zero-waste packaging for Eau de Kenzo, the inflatable "Hilly" rug for Tarkett, and the "Origami" bed for Lit National, featuring ingenious storage pockets. Fouin's creations are characterized by their originality and thoughtful integration of form and function, reflecting her continuous exploration and experimentation within the design field.
